Springtime also includes playing in the newly installed sandbox. We have already spent hours and hours in the sandbox. Simon was SO excited to have dirt in the yard to play with. He was always playing in my flower bed and dragging the dirt out onto the sidewalk. Now he has an entire pile of sand to work with and has enjoyed every single minute of it. Along with Sheyna. They seem to get along in the sandbox for now. It is a good babysitter!
We also enjoy jumping on the trampoline. Oh the time we have spent jumping on the trampoline. I have finally convinced the older boys it is OK to go out on that stinkin' trampoline without the presence of an adult. They have made up games to play and they even let Sheyna play one of them with them. (Dead Man, Dead Man). OK. I don't know if that is one they made up or if they have played it before, but it is very popular, especially with Sheyna cause she can jump and the boys just lay there. Then she falls on top of them. HEHE it's kind of funny to watch.
Soccer is also a much enjoyed (depending on who you ask) adventure for the springtime. Kjelden has MAYBE had three games that haven't been canceled. He, himself, has done very well. He has become more aggressive this year. He did a fairly good job when he was goalie. He has just done very well. His team, however, has not done so well. They have lost every game, but like I said, Kjelden has improved and I told him that is what really counts. In one game, the ball was kicked over toward Kjelden. It was a LITTLE too high, so he jumped to hit it with his head. He missed it by, oh......3 feet. But he tried. It was quite the play!!
And then springtime in the Rockies also includes this:
The first thing Simon said was, "Oh it's Christmas!!! We can put up the Christmas tree!!" Oh no we can't!! We still have a few more months for that, but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE can someone remind Mother Nature that it is May 6th!!!!! April Showers bring May flowers NOT SNOW!!!!!!!
It IS May!! We need to put away the boots and hats and bring on the sandals and sunscreen. That's ok. It will come. I'm glad the kids are enjoying being outside on warmer days.
ReplyDeleteYicks! That snow is so not right. I hope it melts soon, but jumping on the trampoline in the snow can be pretty fun:)
